Charlize Theron sported darker hair and is still wearing that engagement ring we first spotted back in late April. A new interview from Scotland, where she has been attending the Edinburgh film festival, calls her boyfriend of four years, Irish actor Stuart Townsend, her fiance. It's stated in a matter-of-fact manner despite the fact that this news hasn't been announced:
Theron now lives in LA with her fiancé, Irish actor Stuart Townsend, whom she met on the set of the 2002 thriller Trapped. As non-committal about any future marriage plans as she is to acting right now, for the moment Theron is looking to launch a new film with director Alan Parker, "an eccentric off-the-tracks family drama-comedy" as she puts it.
Theron's engagement has been under the radar in Hollywood, although she wore a ring on ther left ring finger to the opening of Club Social Hollywood in late June and may be waiting for the press to pick up on it.
She is producing and starring in a new film about Cuban music artists, her first in over two years. She quipped on stage at the Edinburgh film festival that she was moving to Scotland, as she was surprised that they gave her whisky to drink during a press conference.
Since wer're the first ones to spot this we're calling it a sort-of exclusive.

Oscar winner Charlize Theron and her boyfriend of five years, Irish actor Stuart Townsend, are said to have had a spat while out a Hollywood restaurant last week. The Mirror reports that Charlize showed up 45 minutes late for dinner and that Stuart lectured her for it in front of their embarassed friends:
But 33-year-old Irish hunk Stuart was afraid Charlize had messed up their schedule and launched an ugly attack when she finally arrived. The 31-year-old Monster actress pleaded with her man to forgive her for being late - but Stu didn't seem in the mood.
A source at the restaurant tells us: "Charlize sat teary eyed as Stuart acted like a schoolmaster, lecturing her in front of their friends - like she was a tardy student."
Diners looked shocked as Stuart's diatribe went on and on.
"Charlize kept trying to apologise, but he wouldn't let it go, calling her rude in front of their two guests," adds the source.
The scolding subsided momentarily while a waitress took their meal orders, with Charlize ordering only a drink.
Says our mole: "Charlize was really embarrassed. She pleaded: 'I'm so sorry I was late, and I'm sorry you had to wait.
But I'm here now,' before soothing him with kisses and caresses until he finally let up.
"He eventually gave in and said: "I forgive you, but don't let it happen again." A restaurant employee confirmed: "Charlize and Stuart did come in for dinner last week. They came before a Radiohead concert. They were very late to their table."
This might have happened, but The Mirror lost all credibility for me when they claimed Nicole Kidman was out at a party when she was really outside the Creative Artists offices.
I wouldn't be surprised if they only information they had is that Charlize was late to dinner while her boyfriend and their friends waited.
What I want to know is when are these two getting married? They had some trouble back in March, with reports that they had broken up, but now that they're back together and supposedly doing fine it's about time Townsend popped the question. Charlize has been wearing what looks like an engagement ring on her left ring finger, so these two may be engaged already.

About two weeks ago we mentioned that Charlize Theron was wearing an engagement ring while at a Lakers game with her boyfriend, Stuart Townsend. As far as we know, no one else really noticed and it didn't get any press.
Now A Socialite's Life has a rumor that Theron and Townsend are getting married this weekend in Savannah, GA:
She is having the reception/staying at The Mansion on Forsyth Park. Tip is courtesy of Chuck, the local gay florist. And yes, she's marrying Stuart.Apparently she has an affection for Savannah after filming the Legend of Bagger Vance here several years ago. We've heard she may be getting married at a private residence with a reception at the Mansion (which used to be the Fox and Weeks Funeral Home, it's very cool!) I will let you know what else I hear on Friday.
If this is true, congratulations to Theron and Townsend! They've had a rough go of it, but Charlize played coy and landed her man.

Charlize Theron, 30, was photographed getting all kissy-face with her boyfriend of five years, Irish actor Stuart Townsend, 33, at the Lakers game on Friday. They look incredibly happy and in love, and Charlize was seen with what looks like an engagement ring on her left ring finger.
The couple had some relationship trouble in March, but seemed to have patched it up. Here's the recap:
I think I know what happened, because it's a tried and true female relationship strategy. When a guy won't commit, you act like you want the same thing. Then you break it off from him, and he comes running back.
It seems to be popular to try to announce your engagement to the public by showing up at a Lakers game with a ring. Cameron Diaz was seen with a ring on her engagement finger at a Lakers game with Justin Timberlake on April 10th, although the press doesn't seem to have picked up on the news yet.
We're calling this an exclusive because we spotted the ring in the pics, and no one seemed to notice it on Oh No They Didn't! where we found the pictures. Other blogs that have posted the pics don't mention it.

Charlize Theron and Stuart Townsend were spotted leaving celebrity getaway Chateau Marmont in Hollywood three days ago, belying rumors that they've split.
Charlize has been without her steady partner lately, leading people to speculate that they've split. She went on tour to promote the Japanese release of Aeon Flux right after the Oscars. She also was spotted solo at the SXSW film festival in mid March.
Charlize was said to want time off from the relationship to concentrate on her busy career.
From these latest photos, It looks like the couple is trying to make it work.
People on the JJB bulletin board where we found the pictures have said that Theron look pregnant. We think she's just wearing a tight top and that these are unflattering pictures.

Star is set to report that the rumors that Charlize Theron 30, has split with her boyfriend of five years, 33 year-old Irish actor Stuart Townsend, are true. Theron's publicist released an exasperated statement a week ago that the two were still together in response to speculation that they had split. According to Star, Theron wants time away from Townsend to concentrate on her career.
Charlize, 30, wants to concentrate on her career, whereas Stuart is a lot more happy-go-lucky and fun loving,” the source says.
According to the source, Charlize wants to see if she is happier on her own. “If she is, she’ll make the break permanent,” says the source.
Saying you want time away from the other person usually spells doom for a relationship. Maybe Theron will reunite with Townsend after she has some time to herself, but we doubt it.

Charlize's publicist says that her boyfriend, Irish actor Stuart Townsend, has been away and the rumors that two have split are false:
Following the latest Hollywood split announcement, Theron's publicist, Amanda Silverman, has released a statement saying: "Stuart and Charlize have not broken up.
"Next week everyone will be calling me saying they were married. We can't win."

Charlize Theron, 30, has split with her boyfriend of five years, 33 year-old Irish actor Stuart Townsend, The Sun reports:
Hollywood’s rumour mill went into overdrive. And last night a pal said: “Charlize is free and single again.
“Her relationship with Stuart is well and truly over.
“They just grew apart. It wasn’t always easy because filming often kept them apart for months.”
The Sun also reported that Theron said she wasn't ready to marry Townsend, and that marriage is "not really what I want - or what he wants.”
Theron told Oprah last year that Townsend was her best friend and that the two liked to make out.
Theron flew to Japan the day after the Oscars to promote the Japanese release of Aeon Flux. She certainly keeps busy, and It's a shame that her full schedule got in the way of what seemed like a great relationship.
